This partnership project recruits and trains advice volunteers centrally and then supports them in ways that enable them to develop. This collaboration of Manchester Mind, Cheetham Hill Advice Centre, Greater Manchester Immigration Aid Unit, Manchester Refugee Support Network and Centrepoint Manchester is also increasing their respective capacities to meet the advice needs of the communities. The partners all share their talents and skills and the responsibility for this exciting project for which Manchester Mind serves as lead and accountable body.
Contract in place until December 2019 (funding guaranteed to this date).
The postholder will be employed by Manchester Mind but seconded to Centrepoint Manchester. Centrepoint supports homeless 16-25 year-olds in Manchester.
The skills and knowledge that are important are:
• Supporting volunteer development
• Advice in areas of social welfare law (benefits, debt, housing)
Manchester Mind is striving to be an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from all sections of the community. Manchester Mind sees it as a positive advantage if you have experience of mental health issues and/or have used mental health services, or had experience of volunteering.
