Mission
As
part of the Rules of the Alliance (our governing document), MACC is
required to produce a Manifesto setting out the high level aims of the
organisation. This was revised during 2005 and states that the
organisation exists because its members want to achieve the following:
Mission
An inclusive society which supports and increases the health and social
well-being of people in the many communities across Manchester.
Objectives
- To increase the rights and power for people who
are disadvantaged by their health and social needs and develop wider
recognition of the experiences of disadvantaged people.
- To increase awareness of the factors which combine
to marginalise people from mainstream society, including well-known
issues such as age, race and disability but also less well understood
ones like health status, carer responsibilities, disempowerment and low
self-esteem.
- To increase the availability of services which offer a positive response to the needs and wishes of individuals.
- To remove policies and practices which impose
unfair burdens on people using services, including their informal
carers, families and friends.
- To maintain and develop MACC as an efficient and effective organisation:
- Improve internal systems for the planing, delivery and tracking of the workload of the organisation.
- Improve our ability to prove our impact on our Mission and Objectives.
- Improve the identification and management of business risks, particularly in relation to financial sustainability.
- Build the capacity of the organisation to deliver by strengthening and broadening the skills of the staff team.
- Reinforce and expand MACC’s relationships with partners, clients and funders.
