Mission

As part of the Rules of the Alliance (our governing document), MACC is required to produce a Manifesto setting out the high level aims of the organisation. This was revised during 2005 and states that the organisation exists because its members want to achieve the following:

Mission

An inclusive society which supports and increases the health and social well-being of people in the many communities across Manchester.

Objectives

  1. To increase the rights and power for people who are disadvantaged by their health and social needs and develop wider recognition of the experiences of disadvantaged people.
  2. To increase awareness of the factors which combine to marginalise people from mainstream society, including well-known issues such as age, race and disability but also less well understood ones like health status, carer responsibilities, disempowerment and low self-esteem.
  3. To increase the availability of services which offer a positive response to the needs and wishes of individuals.
  4. To remove policies and practices which impose unfair burdens on people using services, including their informal carers, families and friends.
  5. To maintain and develop MACC as an efficient and effective organisation:
  • Improve internal systems for the planing, delivery and tracking of the workload of the organisation.
  • Improve our ability to prove our impact on our Mission and Objectives.
  • Improve the identification and management of business risks, particularly in relation to financial sustainability.
  • Build the capacity of the organisation to deliver by strengthening and broadening the skills of the staff team.
  • Reinforce and expand MACC’s relationships with partners, clients and funders.
