Voluntary Youth Manchester

Voluntary Youth Manchester (VYM) was established in 2002 to facilitate and encourage the development and delivery of the best possible services for young people in Manchester.

Their main role is to support, promote and develop the local voluntary, community and faith youth sector, through a variety of means and mechanisms. These include:

  • a regular e-mail bulletin addressing issues identified as important by the sector
  • a bi-monthly steering group meeting open to all in the sector
  • general advice and guidance on practice issues
  • representing the sector in relevant forums

VYM is also managing the delivery of the workforce strategy partners programme with funding from the Children's Workforce Development Council (CWDC) as a means of ensuring that staff and volunteers in services to young people, children and families across the voluntary, community and faith sector are trained to a consistent standard required to deliver quality services.

In this and other aspects of its work VYM, works closely with key partners such as MACC and Manchester City Council to make sure that the best possible outcome is achieved.

For more information on VYM please contact Ross Grant on 0161 832 0169 or email voluntaryyouthmanchester@gmail.com.
