District Working
In each of the six Children's Services districts in Manchester, a children and young people’s partnership has been set up as part of the Children’s Trust arrangements. The partnerships were initially set up as ‘district panels’ in 2007 when it was thought that services might be commissioned at a district level. Alongside both national and local developments, the panel role has evolved and moved away from commissioning. The partnerships will continue to have a strong focus on improving outcomes for children and young people in their district.
Each partnership has drawn on its members' collective knowledge and expertise to identify a set of district priorities aimed at improving outcomes for children and young people. They are now using these priorities to focus on finding ways in which services may be delivered differently.
The partnerships consist of 12 members, bringing together key agencies working within the districts. There are two voluntary and community sector representatives for each of the six district partnerships and their role is to:
bring a voluntary and community sector perspective to the partnerships and knowledge of voluntary and community sector services in the district.
- engage with local
voluntary and community sector organisations.
The other pages in this section provide a more detailed update on each district to help keep you up to date on the priorities and work for that area. We aim to add partnership minutes and regular feedback from voluntary and community sector representatives.
If you would like to get in contact with your district partnership representatives click on the relevant district in the menu on the right to find the name and contact details.
