MACC is evolving and our website will be changing soon. The children and families area will only hold basic information while the new system is being designed.
Macc lead the strategic work for children and families within Manchester. This involves representation within the Children's Trust and Safeguarding Board to provide information, challenge and be the role of "critical friend" with the partnership. The work within the children and families area aims to strengthen the role of the sector as a provider and as a strategic partner in the city.
In 2012 we will be launching two new forums in the sector that have been identified by organisations within the sector.
Joint Adults and Children's VCS Safeguarding Forum.
This forum will bring together organisations that work acrosss all ages to feed into the work of the Manchester Safeguarding Adult Board and Manchester Safeguarding Children's Board and to ensure cross-cutting issues that affect all our practice in the sector are fed into the work of the Boards.
VCS Children, Young People and Families Leaders Forum.
This forum will bring together those who have a leadership role in the VCS with children, young people and families and will be crucial to strengthening the sectors position as a strategic partner and quality provider. This forum will be a joint forum hosted by MACC and Voluntary Youth Manchester (VYM).
These two forums will sit alongside a range of other activities that go in the children and families field.
MACC's Child & Family Support Forum is a network of voluntary and community sector organisations working with and for children and families in Manchester. The Forum works to strengthen the role of the sector as a provider of support and as a strategic partner in the city.
