| Twice-yearly briefing session for the voluntary sectr from the Department of Adult Social Care at Manchester City Council.
This will be held on Thursday, 4th December 2008 from 9:15am – 1:00pm The meeting will be chaired by the Assistant Directors for Adults and Older People’s Services, Paul Cassidy and Fionnuala Stringer, with the agenda being: • Update from the Voluntary Sector • Adult Social Care changes and the impact on voluntary groups If there is a particular issue you would like to see covered on the agenda, please contact the MACC office. Likewise, if you have any information to share as part of the voluntary sector update, please let us know. So far MACC has requested the following: - Personalisation: an update on the implementation of this and specifically around the support which will be available to enable voluntary sector organisations to prepare and plan. - Home care services: discussion of the lessons which have been learned from the process and how this will feed into future commissioning. - Low level and preventative services strategy: this was being worked on over the summer - News of any forthcoming funding, commissioning, tendering or service delivery opportunities. - An update on the Local Authority's position following the recent national work on FACS criteria - A guide to the Adult Social Care Department - there seems to have been a lot of restructuring going on so an updated list of who's who would be useful - covering senior managers, commissioners, project leads, etc. - Engagement structures for service users and carers - a chart showing where the involvement and engagement structures are up to e.g. around BME communities, physical disability, carers, older people, etc. - Training diary - details of courses open to the voluntary sector around topics such as safeguarding, etc. |
